MILAN FASHION WEEK: Dolce and Gabbana SS17

I'm with the band!
I don't know what it is but I seem to be getting on board with Dolce and Gabbana lately! I think the eight months in Italy did me the power of good and I'm much more in tune with Italian designers then I was before.

I loved the military, marching band elements I saw reflected in the clothing. I have to admit that at times some of it felt a bit costume rather then couture but I don't mind. That's the thing, you don't go to D&G for minimal design. It's all about the embellishments, the sequins and the bright colours. While nothing can be beat their SS16 collection for me, I do love this one.
I especially love the marching band drum kit handbags. In fact, I need one.

There were still some of the older Dolce and Gabbana touches like the sheer black lace dresses and the full skirt with the prints above which seemed freshly familiar to me. I can't fault either. I used to style with D&G back in the day and while I love a good marching band theme - its the black and white lace, sheer bits that sell. I would go mad trying to sell the wilder bits before settling on the lace black dress in the end. If it works, it works.
I also know there was some snark about hoodies on the runway from Vogue lately but I have to admit, I love it. I really love the trend for oversized styled hoodies......although I would totally wear a skirt with this. I don't think Nottingham high street is quite ready for my bum yet.

Completely love the fish print.
