I have never been a man who felt any comfort in a suit, but I do appreciate them. I'm sure if I was presented with a custom made one with a high collar, I would wear it! 

Anyway, always kind to share and listen to what others have to say.

This is kind of what I am referring to regarding a high collar. I guess I meant, if the dress shirt has a high collar...actually, AND/or the suit collar.

Custom made suits are necessary. I believe if you own a suit, you must have them made to fit YOU. Find a reliable and crafty tailor.

Fabrics are essential. I don't mind corduroy, but that's just me. The 70's inspired one posted is a good choice.
