Black Eyed Peas

For you yankee friends and non-horticulturin' sons and daughters of the south and you from the west coast who don't realize that grits is groceries...this is a picture of black eyed peas soon to be gathered and cooked up for a delicious lunch! (Maybe the morning heat will take some of the ache out of my shoulder and back muscles...)

Black Eyed Peas have been a staple of Southern eatin' for about three hundred years. They will grow in the extreme heat and will survive for weeks at a time without water..and are just some damn fine eatin...
